Since 2008, Brit Nominee, Alexandra Burke’s career has gone from strength to strength within the music industry with her debut single, ‘Hallelujah’ holding a European record for the highest single sales within just 24 hours, selling over 105,000 copies in just one day. The single reached number one in the UK Christmas Chart and became the top selling single of 2008. By January 2009 ‘Hallelujah’ had sold over 1 million copies across the UK alone; a record for a British female solo artist of that era.

Alexandra then soon developed a strong career in musical theatre, becoming one of the most sought-after leading ladies of the West End.

In 2014, Alexandra was offered the lead role of Rachel Marron in London’s West End musical ‘The Bodyguard’ then embarking on a two-year regional tour from 2014 through to 2016. After a successful tour with ‘The Bodyguard’, Alexandra was then offered the lead role of Deloris Van Cartier in the hugely popular show; ‘Sister Act’. Alexandra embarked on a 12-month regional tour with the production across the UK.

In December 2018 Alexandra made her debut return to the hit musical; ‘The Bodyguard’ touring across the UK through to February 2020.

From April 2018 Alexandra took on the role of ‘Svetlana’ in a 5-week revival of the epic musical love story; ‘Chess’ held at one of London’s most iconic venues; The London Coliseum. Following ‘Chess’ Alexandra took to starring as ‘Roxie Hart’ in the hit show ‘Chicago’ at the Phoenix Theatre London through until November 10th 2018.

In summer 2017 Alexandra was announced as a contestant for BBC One’s everpopular ’Strictly Come Dancing’ dancing her way to the final followed by the release of her third album ‘The Truth Is’ in March 2018.

In February 2012 Alexandra released the second album, ‘Heart Break On Hold’.

2009 saw release of Alexandra’s debut album; ‘Overcome’, which reached number one in the UK Albums Chart. The success of tracks: ‘Hallelujah’, ‘Badboys’, ‘All Night Long’ and ‘Start Without You’ all secured number one spots in both the UK & Irish Singles Charts. ‘Overcome’ went on to be voted one of the most successful albums of that year, amassing three Brit Award nominations; home to hit singles ‘Broken Heels‘ and ‘The Silence’ which both became UK Top 10 hits.

As the Ambassador for Breast Cancer Care, Diabetes UK, WellChild, The Melissa Bell Foundation and Notting Hill Carnival, Alexandra will always find time for charity amongst her work commitments. In 2018 Alexandra also set-up The Fall Ball Foundation.
